AquaMax® AWWA C909 IB PVCO Pipe

Westlake Pipe & Fittings’ AquaMax™ AWWA C909 IB PVCO Pipe is a modern, innovative answer for aging municipal water, wastewater and reclaimed water systems that is stronger, tougher and more flexible than traditional PVC.

  • Achieves the same pressure rating as PVC but with a thinner wall
  • Allows for over 10% more internal flow area for the same pipe outside diameter and over 40% reduced pipe weight compared to C900 PVC pipe
  • Utilizes Anger-Lock™-style gaskets to create a leak-free joint
  • Facilitates ease of assembly while maintaining high performance in buried applications

The Difference Between PVC and PVCO

Open Accordion Menu Item

AquaMax® C909 PVCO Pipe is produced by stretching PVC during manufacturing to realign the molecular structure. This process increases strength and flexibility while allowing the pipe to use less material than standard PVC.

PVCO Pipe Benefits: Strength and Flexibility in the Field

The result is a pipe that is:

  • Much stronger, without being thicker or heavier
  • More flexible, allowing it to accommodate shifting soil and demanding field conditions.
  • More resistant to impact, reducing the likelihood of cracking during handling, transport, or backfill.
  • Higher hydraulic efficiency, with a larger internal diameter that can allow for improved flow rates or lower pumping energy requirements.
